So... This isnt just like a minecraft in space( well it is but it has more than that other than just blocks )
Starmade is a space exploration/building/fighting game, on which you start with a ship core, 6 power generators (which produce power) 6 thrusters(which let you move), A weapons computer and 20 Cannons(AMCs) and some credits(money)
When you start playing on On singleplayer or a server, you usually spawn on the coords 2 2 2 (which ill explain later) AKA spawn, default starting credits are 25k(25.000 or 25,000 depending on where you live) and with the stuff i mentioned above.
Making a ship:
With the items you start with, you can make a starter ship, to place the ship core(AKA where you enter ship) press X, and then name it, it says you cant rename it, but you can actually do it, then get inside the ship core by aiming on it, and being close, and then click r on it, and start placing stuff, but before you go, if you are still near spawn shop, click b when you are near it, go to ship shop tab, scroll down and buy some shield blocks and then place them on your ship and i reccomend you to fly away from spawn as soon as you can!
Making Money
The basic money making "trick" is to mine asteroids on astronaut mode(outside ship core) and then going to a shop(if you are on multiplayer dont go to spawn shop) and then sell your stuff to get some credits, then equip your ship with more stuff, then buy a build block(general section of shop) and then try to find a space station, and when you find one, put the build block on it, then enter it and hold ctrl, set X Y and Z to 10, put Remove Mode with a checkmark and hold ctrl and start removing the hull and glass!
When you are done you can go to another shop( dont go to spawn shop either) and sell the hull and glass and other stuff, and since those cost more than dirt and basic terrain items, you can get 1mil creds or more, which is a lot to newbies but its nothing when you start making bigger ships.
Navigation
So... To open navigation you click n, there you can see things near you on a 2km range(rarely you can see stuff 3km from you) and that way you can go to a nearby shop without flying blind, at the top of the navigation section, theres a coordinates thing, on which you can enter coords(eg. 2 2 2) and then a glowing marker will show up, follow it and then after some travelling you should be there!
Factions
Every server has some factions, to check faction info click h, and then go to either personal subtab, faction subtab, or faction hub subtab
The major factions are,but not limited to:
The DFN(Debrisian Federal Navy), Leaded by FlyingDebris and Creeper_God
The RA(Rebel Alliance) Leaded by ObiShawnKenobi
The Vaygr Empire, Leaded by zorozeenee
The Tartaran Empire, Leaded by Incap
The Void Templar, Leaded by Claru
And some more!
Saving/Cataloging ships
So probably you will loose a ship but you want to buy it again, to save it, you click I,N, or H and then at the bottom left of the tabs it says catalog, click on it, and you should see some buttons and some subtabs, go to the first subtab and then click on the Create New entry button, and name it, and then click on Save to local and name it too(preferably the same)
To buy a ship, go to first subtab and then click on the name, and then click on buy, and name it, and then click ENTER or the OK.
